戴伟·埃文斯（David Evans），于 1980 年和 1984 年分别获得牛津大学学士学位和博士学位。1985 年至 1996 年，在埃克塞特大学从事教学和研究工作。戴伟博士于1996年9月来到北京化工大学，现任化学资源工程国家重点实验室特聘教授兼外联中心主任。戴伟博士与中国科学院院士薛端教授合作研究，在插层和柱状层状无机材料领域做出了重要贡献。从 2011 年起，开始关注化学推广工作，在中国大陆众多学校和科技馆举办讲座和开展化学实践活动。戴维博士多次参加由科技部、中国科协和英国皇家化学会主办的大型科普活动，激发了青少年探索化学世界的热情。近年来，戴伟博士利用快手、B站和豆瓣等网络平台，为大中小学生传播化学科学实验视频。2001年，被国家外国专家局授予“友谊奖”。2005年，被国务院授予“国际科学技术合作奖”。2008 年，被授予大英帝国勋章（OBE）。2020 年，中国科学技术协会任命戴伟博士为“形象大使”，并评选他为 “十佳科普传播者”之一。

David Evans received a bachelor's degree in 1980 and a doctorate in 1984, both from the University of Oxford. He carried out teaching and research at the University of Exeter from 1985 to 1996. He moved to Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) in September 1996, and is currently a Distinguished Professor in the State Key Laboratory of Chemical Resource Engineering and Director of the Outreach Center. His research in collaboration with Prof. Xue Duan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has made a significant contribution to the field of intercalated and pillared layered inorganic materials. From 2011 onwards, he started to focus on chemistry outreach, and has given lectures and carried out practical chemistry sessions in schools and science museums in all but one of the provincial level administrative regions in mainland China. He has participated in many major science popularization activities sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Association for Science and Technology and the Royal Society of Chemistry, inspiring young people with a passion for exploring the world of chemistry. In recent years he has used online platforms such as Kuaishou, Bilibili, and Douyin to disseminate videos of chemical science experiments for college, middle and elementary school students. In 2001, he was awarded the "Friendship Award" by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA). In 2005, he was awarded an "International Science and Technology Cooperation Award" by the State Council. In 2008, he was awarded the Order of the British Empire ("OBE"). In 2020, the China Association for Science and Technology appointed him "Image Ambassador" and selected him as one of their "Top Ten Popular Science Communicators".
